Thank god I have left overs... seeing this old Box by Battlefront I finally went with finishing the Sturm Infantry Begleit Platoon.

I also did a couple of shots on the "Begleit Platoon" as Tankriders alongside with the stands being with the StuGGs.

Battlefront - 15mm - WW2 German 78. Sturm Begleit Assault Troops (Tank Riders)

Leftovers is the topic this month. From the remainers of a couple of boxes and skytex miniatures I am building up some more new units.






As some of you might remember the old army book for the 78th Sturm Division also had a StuGG Begleit Assault team (Tankriders)....

While rampaging through my left overs I found two german Kingtiger Tanks with tank riders. The tanks  I already had painted up some time back and did not want the tank riders on them as they are the only King Tigers I have... so now these 12 guys find a new home on a StuGG

James Graham, The Marquis of Montrose

The Marquis of Montrose was perhaps the most tragic, brilliant and romantic figure of the British civil wars.He became the King's Champion in all of Scotland and fought a brilliant campaign against extraordinary odds battling the grim Government Covenanter forces.

 With a cadre of three Irish regiments, largely veterans from the Continent and aided by an ever changing  alliance of Highland Clans, Montrose smashed army after army, sometimes in pitched battle, other times in skirmishes and raids.

 He was a very accomplished general, winning so much with so little, time and again.  It was his ability to enthuse and inspire his men and keep them together long enough for a common cause that perhaps was his greatest virtue, though his personal bravery in a madcap campaign must also be applauded.

Warlord Games have captured Montrose reigning in his horse, telescope in hand , once again attempting to out- fox his wily Scot enemies.

As mentioned in one of the forums I am trying to get rid of my many leftovers from all sorts of boxes I have. This also includes some Battlefront stuff which I filled up with some of my leftovers from the old Skytex range. Let me know if you find the Skytex ones amongst them :)

Perry Miniatures - 28mm - ACW2 Plastic American Civil War Cavalry ( box of 12 figures)

Well if you cant get enougth of that kinda blue and blue shading, highlighting and brushing ... you can also finish the riders from that box. The horses are already glued to the bases and primed... so guess what follows next ???

I did all 12 by now.. depicting 6 Union Cavalry and 6 Confederate Cavalry. As I am currently not looking for another box which would be needed to fill up the ranks these 6 Cavalry per side should be enougth for a battlefield

Painting the better or Lidl way ?

During my weekly shopping at Lidl Ireland I stumbled across this fascinating thing... Of course I had to buy it... 38 Euros is a bargain. Now I can see all the minor mistakes I did on my miniatures..and yes I love my mess on my painting table :)
