Adler Miniatures - 6mm - Napoleonic French Light Infantry

Sensational it is to paint 6mm Figures. Compared to the other scales i paint this really really really is tiny , but to the advantage.. if you paint 15mm afterwards you simply see more... sounds weired but it is perception...

So here we go with French Napoleonic Light Infantry

(in case you also miss in the front rank one strip of command, you are true, as the blisters I got first of all carry infantry only and the second unopened blister holds the complete commands... so commands (ensign or eagle bearer, infantry nco, drummer) will be for a later post..

Still with todays shock I also worked on my soviet DShK HMG on Truck (SU162) and finished it...

While traveling to Cork today I turned up at the "Other realms" Store and got a shock. Someone simply tried to paint the starter box and all I could figure out was that this was a job NOT done. Everything looked simply out of place and either dark green or dark yellow. Plastic Soldiers by Revell look like that if you unbox them... so I went home to do it better....

As with this swollen backlog from September I need to paint faster or more miniatures at the same time. Pressure is on me here.

This bridge is from resin and was an ebay auction that I won. It fits perfect to 6mm up to 15mm. Love the outcome:

This one is a leftover from my last month and I am fine with finally finishing it as the first two models for october. Jesus... time passes by really fast.

I am really pleased to say that this was a quite uncomplicated model. A bit glueing and then straight to the priming.

This is quite a funny thing. After reading a couple of blogs and regarding my own table space I decided to take a look at 6mm miniatures.
After a bit undecided I phoned both Baccus and Adler Miniatures for advice. I got the "better" answer by Adler and placed an order for a complete french division.

Warlord Games - 28mm - Bolt Action - 31 German Fallschirmjäger

The world's first paratroopers to be used in large numbers, the German Fallshirmjäger were at the tip of the spear when war broke out in 1939.  They led daring assaults on strategic targets, such as the fortress at Eben Emael, enabling the following panzers to overrun Europe.

As a paratrooper force the Fallschirmjäger's greatest achievement would be the intense fighting they performed as they seized Crete in the face of more numerous British and Commonwealth forces during 1941. This pyrrhic victory meant that they were never again used en masse.

Small units still operated by glider and parachute, famously rescuing Italian leader Mussolini, and raiding behind American lines in the Ardennes. Their finest hour would undoubtly be the bitter fighting as they occupied the monastery at Monte Cassino for months in the face of overwhelming odds, earning themselves the nickname 'Green Devils'. While painting the limited Edition Miniature I used the rest colours in my paint pot to also finish the Vickers Team. The base was done using miliput for the sandbags.

Weekend was quite busy with playing Diablo 3 (yes, it is addictive). So only one more Figure finished which is the british paratrooper carrying a wounded.

Victrix Miniatures - 28mm - French Middle Guard (24 Miniatures)

The whole Victrix plastics box contains approx 60 Miniatures. Due to my regimental sizing I did paint 24 first which leaves me another regiment and then 12 spares... lets see what comes out with them..

I have to tell you that even as the box is one of their more latest additions the sprues sometimes suck as hell. I have had less problems with their other boxes when it comes to cleaning up of the models from their sprues. Here we have a couple of things that seemingly went wrong.

Perry Miniatures - 28mm - Dutch Red Lancers (12 Pieces)

This is one of my most favourite Regiments by now. The dutch Red Lancers. I had quite a hard time finding out about the uniforms. Even Ospreys pictures depict them nearly black. Different blogs paint them quite blue and red...

I went for the Osprey variation. The "blue" is 1/3 intense blue by Vallejo mixed with 2/3 of Negro by Vallejo. This makes them seemingly black. If you hold them in the sun or would strip them off their colour it goes blue :)

Funny effect.

Everything comes in strange ways. My plan was to build up my Victrix Plastics and paint a new french regiment (possibly Middle Guard)....
